| October 2002 : Sydney (Arrival) | |
| I arrived in Sydney on 7th October after a three day stopover in Bangkok. Jet lag was awful and body clock completely messed up! We landed at 5:20am on the Monday morning, but we couldn't check into our rooms at the hostel until 10:30am - what a bore!
The following day we were given our orientation by BUNAC which explained the mail forwarding system, how to find accommodation, job hunting, traveling around the country etc etc. Wednesday morning a friend and I decided to go on an "Icons" tour in the morning and see a bit more of Sydney. The following photos are all taken on that day! |

| Thursday involved hunting for a mobile phone which offered the best deal. I ended up with a Philips Fisio on a pay-as-you-go with Vodafone! Once the phone was sorted it was on to the agencies to try and get a job. Tried calling 5 - some didn't offer nanny jobs, others were engaged - no luck whatsoever. Luckily I had an address for one, so I popped round to see the lady.
After filling in forms, she left me to it, and said to call her later that evening. The phone call resulted in an interview the following day at 10am. By 10:30am the next day I had been to meet the lady, and had accepted the job in Bellevue Hill. |
