December 2002 : Surfers Paradise
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary - Saw some aborigine dancers. As well as dancing they lit a fire from rubbing sticks together (yes it really does work!), and had my first "toss of a boomerang" - and yes - it did come back to me (more or less!).

Sea World - Was amazed to find that as well as the things a normal person would expect to be there, there was also rides (roller coaster, pirate ship etc) and a water park (if you have your cozzie with you). Watched the dolphins perform at both of the shows, was fascinated by the polar bears swimming underwater (underwater viewing facilities) and generally made a full day of seeing and doing everything.

Lamington National Park - Stopped at an Alpaca farm en route and then went up to O'Reillys where I fed crimson rosella and king parrots (one decided to sit on my head), and also visited the volcanic plateau of Mount Tamborine.
