December 2002 - January 2003 : Brisbane
City Sightseeing Tour - Did all the usual sights on a tour, and then went back to see them in depth at my leisure.

Roma Street Parklands - Newly developed parklands opened in 1998. Located on the site of the old railway yards. The most beautiful flowers and trees were here, and it was very well maintained.

New Years Eve - Went to the South Bank Parklands for the citys celebrations. I watched the 9pm family fireworks, sat around listening to some live music for an hour and then my bed was calling so loud that I went home to see it!

Australia Zoo - Luck was on my side - Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter is only at the zoo for about 3 or 4 weeks every year from what I can understand, and I was lucky enough to see him playing with the salties. That guy really is nuts wading through water with crocodiles in it and feeding them from his hands. He even used a naughty word when one of the crocs got a little bit closer to him that he would have liked and quickly had to apologise - after all, it's a family show!!!

Big Pineapple - Apparently over 60 of these 'big' things exist all over Australia. I'm not really sure what the purpose is other than a tourist attraction! It was situated with pineapple plantations though.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary - the worlds oldest and largest koala sanctuary. Had my picture taken with a cuddly koala called Sandy, and then Paddy insisted that he got to meet her too, so he did!
